PREPARING PRISONERS FOR REENTRY

As release day approaches, the problems awaiting prisoners on the other side of the gate can be overwhelming.   Similar to their days in the military, our veteran prisoners have been told when to eat, what to wear, and where to go.  Now, suddenly they will have to again make decisions on their own.

Armatus Reintegration Program staff and volunteers are devoted to helping prepare our veteran men and women to leave prison with the proper classroom training and a positive outlook – ready to succeed.  We are currently offering training in 12 prison facilities and the Montgomery County jail which cover a variety of life-skills and other programs that teach personal responsibility and stress the value of education and hard work.

Thanks to the veterans and volunteers on the Armatus staff, our veteran prisoners are learning how to regain the successful traits that allowed many of them to complete their previous tours in the military and will led to a successful reentry into their communities, walking out of prison as prepared as possible for the challenges that lie ahead.
