Fishing around the Bentwater Marina is pretty spectacular. Some of the biggest fish in Lake Conroe call the Bentwater Marina their home. The underwater shelter created by our Marina Pier structures offer fish a great habitat to thrive. This makes a perfect environment for hosting fishing clinics for kids. No need to go out on a boat or leave the neighborhood. Fishing from the docks is all the fun you can handle.
So this summer we'll be holding "Fish Camps" for our Bentwater kids. Our staff will teach the kids the fundamentals of East Texas freshwater lake fishing, including:
- The components of a fishing rod and reel
- Fishing line and how to select the proper weight
- Fish hooks and how to select the proper size
- Learning about bobbers, sinkers, and swivels.
- Lures, bait, and how to select the right ones.
- Knot tying
- Essential tools needed to make life easier
- Fishing etiquette
- Fishing safety
- And most importantly, catching lots of fish!
