Montgomery Madrigals, Directed by Heather Orr

Heather Orr is in her 30th year of teaching and 24th year as the Montgomery High School Head Choir Director. She holds a Master of Arts in Vocal Pedagogy from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Heidelberg University.

Orr's choirs consistently earn Sweepstakes Awards at UIL Competitions and choirs under her direction have been recognized with First Place at the Madrigal Festival in San Antonio, Madrigal Festival in Dallas, and Celebration of Excellence in Houston. Last year, the Montgomery HS Choir Department was honored to present 3 Honor Choir performances including the Madrigals at Madrigal Festival San Antonio, the A Cappella Women at Madrigal Festival Dallas, and Chorale Women as an Honor Choir at Celebration of Excellence and also as an Invited Choir at the TMEA Convention.

The Montgomery Madrigals are from Montgomery HS and consist of 26 students. They perform in a variety of concerts and community performances on and off campus. The Madrigals have a long tradition of accolades, including several Honor Choir programs, performances at ACDA and SWACDA, and 22 consecutive years of UIL Sweepstakes Awards. The Madrigals have been recognized on a National level consistently winning top awards.

Many students are members of the Texas Future Music Educators Association and Tri-M National Music Honor Society. In addition, the students are active in Region and State Solo and Ensemble Contests, NATS Competitions, and Region and All-State Choirs.

The Madrigals will be hosting their 19th Annual Madrigal Dinner and Concert on December 14 & 15. Tickets are presale. They hope to see you there!

Sign-in starts at 10:30 a.m.  The meeting will begin at 11 a.m., with lunch at 11:30 a.m. The program will begin at Noon. Meetings last until approximately 1:00 p.m.

Lunch is optional, but reservations must be made by 12:00 am on the Wednesday prior to the Luncheon (8 days before), even if you're not eating.
